Song Of The Day:  Missy Elliot-  Lose Control

Saturday, March 26, 2005

WARNING! The following post is my own personal feelings on a somewhat controversial subject.

Unless you are living under a rock, Terri Schiavo is going on week 2 with no feeding tube as ordered by her "loving" husband.  Doctors say that she is totally unaware and feeling no pain as she deteriorates.  What I want to know is, how in the hell do they know what she is and is not feeling??  How do they know she is not suffering?  If she is so brain dead and not aware of her surroundings, then why does she smile and her spirits brighten when her family walks into the room?  What is being done to her is 100% inhumae and cruel torture.  All because her husband claim she verbally told him once that she did not want to be kept alive if she could not fend for herself.  You know, I say a lot of things out of spur of the moment decisions.  Unless I have them written down and notorized as being official, I do not expect anyone to carry out anything.  Now, what I am not understanding is why they are letting the husband have TOTAL control over everything.  It is like her parents gave birth to her for nothing.  They no longer matter in her world.  The family's opinion on the matter should be weighed into everything just as much if not more than his.  There have not been any successful studies that prove in my eyes that people in her state do not feel the pain associated with starvation and dehydration.  While I know that she will probably never be able to function on her own, I feel that she should be allowed to live her life to the fullest and pass on peacefully and naturally.  This is not natural.  This is borderline Nazi Concentration Camp.  There is no legal document that she signed stating that her husband could have total control over whether she lives or dies.  From what a nurse told me, the only time anyone is allowed to make that decision is when the person is on total lifesupport and have absolutely no chance of survival without it.  Then the next of kin is given the duty of making the decision.  Honestly, I wouldn't besurprised if her husband is put in the situation of starving to death by someone.  Actually, it would be quite fitting.  Someone has already threatened to kill him and also a judge that ruled against replacing the tube.  I guarentee it will not be the last.  If I were her father, I would be doing it myself.  I don't care how long I am put in prison.  You do not make someone suffer a slow death.  AHH  I have gotten into so many arguments with people the last few days over this that I just needed to vent some.  I have a LOT more I could/ want to say but will just stop now before I write a billion pages.  Someone else can have my soapbox now.

So I came home to feel ugly again.  Feels better alone.  Pretty ugly again.  If you come back around, I may not let you in 'cause I don't understand what this pretty is.

2004- Year In Review

Just a sumnation of my year:

* Ended a long relationship in January.

* Had 3 very short relationships (2 months being the longest).

* Had some bad bullshit go down at a job.  Lost that job.  Bullshit resolved a few months later.

* Bought tickets to see Madonna ($300) and never went.  Got them because the person I was seeing at the time wanted to go then we broke up and I got stuck with the tickets and could not sell them.

* Continued losing weight.  Down to a 34" waist, 170 pounds.  :)

* Made a few new very close friends.  (Chris, Jennifer, Ian, Justin, Matthieu, Jun...  Luff y'all.  Luff all my old ho's still too)

* Got a new tattoo (Scroll down 2 entries) on Dec. 10th.  OUCH!

* Gwen Steffani became my official future ex- wife.  (Take a chance you stupid ho.)

Thats about it.  Happy New Years everyone.
